Kitimat is a district municipality situated in the North Coast region of British Columbia. Before 1950, the town was a small fishing village, but nowadays, the port plays an important role in connecting North America to the Pacific Ocean and the Pacific Rim. There are plenty of things to do in Kitimat. The municipality’s most known cultural landmark is the Kitimat Museum. The museum displays a collection of Haisla heritage artifacts in the Upstairs Gallery. These artifacts act as a way to foster a stronger relationship bond with the Haisla Nation.
