Situated just across the bridge from downtown Vancouver, West Vancouver is part of the Metro Vancouver region. The city is known for its high cost of living and great access to nature. Among the best things to do in West Vancouver is visiting the Art Museum, located in the historic Gertrude Lawson House. Built by Gertrude Lawson in 1940, the museum features diverse forms of contemporary and historical art. Another important venue is the Silk Purse Arts Centre, which is home to the Community Arts Council (WVCAC) and the Silk Purse Art Studio. The arts council features exhibits and hosts cultural events, while the art studio is the location for children’s art programs. While access to the outdoors may be the main highlight of West Vancouver for many, the city’s vibrant cultural scene has a lot to explore!
