What: September Exhibition Opening Reception for three new exhibitions — Split Wood Sculpture, Our Stories, Our Voices, and Agua pasa por mi casa
When: Friday, September 5, 2025 | 7:00 – 9:00 PM
Where: Place des Arts, 1120 Brunette Avenue, Coquitlam
Admission: Free | Includes cash bar, artist meet-and-greet, and collaborative art activity

About the Exhibitions:

  • Split Wood Sculpture (Atrium): Robert Riley’s intuitive wood carvings, sculpted from single pieces that reveal hidden forms. Running through Nov 6, in-person and online from Sept 12.
  • Our Stories, Our Voices (Leonore Peyton Salon): Curated by Christine Mackenzie, this exhibition celebrates Indigenous and Métis women’s resilience through powerful artworks. Runs until Oct 21, with online viewing from Sept 12.
  • Agua pasa por mi casa (Mezzanine): Alejandra Morales Garza’s vibrant paintings and installation explore cultural romanticism and informal economies in Mexico. Also on view until Oct 21, with online access starting Sept 12.
