Family Day Weekend
February 13-16th, 2026

Family Day is the perfect time to slow down, explore together, and discover the stories that shaped our region. From February 13 – 16, 2026 enjoy 50% off admission and spend the day exploring the museum grounds and exhibits, riding the underground train, and learning about the people, places, and innovations that defined Britannia. Whether you’re visiting with curious kids or reconnecting across generations, Britannia Mine Museum offers a meaningful, hands-on experience the whole family can share.

BC Heritage Week

This February, Britannia Mine Museum is proud to take part in BC Heritage Week, themed Stir the Pot, which explores how food has shaped generations, cultures, and communities across British Columbia. At Britannia, meals were more than nourishment – they were a way for families from around the world to share traditions, build connection, and create a sense of home in a remote mining town. From cookhouses to community cafés, food helped transform Britannia into a place of belonging. Join us this Heritage Week as we reflect on the stories, recipes, and shared tables that helped shape Britannia Mine – and continue to bring people together today.

The Company Store

As we reflect on how traditions are shared and passed down through generations, we invite you to stop by the Britannia Mine Museum Company Store. Our Valentine’s display highlights locally sourced, artisan-crafted pieces shaped by the earth and chosen with care. Thoughtfully made and rooted in craft, these timeless finds offer a meaningful way to mark the season while supporting local makers and celebrating the materials and stories that define Britannia.

Heavy Hauler Hot Chocolate

Warm up with our Heavy Hauler Hot Chocolate, inspired by the giants at work in modern mining – including the CAT 793C, now onsite at Britannia Mine Museum. This winter feature offers a playful preview of what’s ahead as we prepare for our upcoming summer exhibit focused on modern machinery, where big jobs require even bigger machines. Priced at $7.93 as a nod to the CAT 793C, the Heavy Hauler Hot Chocolate is available at the Chatterbox Café and invites visitors to explore how mining has evolved, from historic tools to today’s engineering giants.
