Five Things to do This Valentine’s Day

Five Romantic Ways to Celebrate Valentine’s Day Weekend in BC

Inspired by Love, Art, and Meaningful Experiences

This post is dedicated to the inspiring and creative story of our friends, artists Keith and Celia Rice-Jones (pictured at the top of this post). Partners in every sense of the word, they worked side by side in life and in the studio, building a lasting legacy of creativity, collaboration, and contribution to the arts community as celebrated potters.

Their creative partnership reminds us that romance isn’t only about grand gestures; it’s about shared experiences, curiosity, and the beauty we create together. Keith continues to carry that shared legacy forward. (Photo of Keith and Celia Rice Jones by Gillian McMillan).

If you’re planning a Valentine’s weekend that feels thoughtful, memorable, and a little more meaningful than the usual dinner reservation, here are five experiences across British Columbia that blend art, food, adventure, and connection.

PoMoArts — Keith Rice-Jones: Truly a Love Story

On view February 15–March 12, Keith Rice-Jones: Truly a Love Story presents a selection of montages created between 1992 and 2025 for his wife, Celia — originally private anniversary and birthday cards, now shared publicly for the first time.

More than an exhibition, this is a tender portrait of creative partnership and enduring love. The show invites visitors to slow down and reflect on how art becomes a language between two people. For those wanting to go deeper, PoMoArts also offers related workshops inspired by the exhibition’s playful storytelling approach.

Perfect for: art lovers, meaningful dates, quiet reflection.

“Create your own montage inspired by the exhibition in this hands-on workshop with artist Keith Rice-Jones.
Taking inspiration from Dada imagery, participants will play with storytelling through collage and assemble a one-of-a-kind keepsake card to take home.”

️ Saturday, February 21
⏰ 2:00 – 4:00 PM
PoMoArts (2425 St Johns St, Port Moody)

Free admission.
