Established in 1967, the Arts Council of Surrey is a member based, non-profit society with a mandate to promote Performing, Literary And Visual Arts. The Arts Council sponsors and produces more than 15 events each year in addition to participating in community events such as the City of Surrey Fusion Festival and Childrens Festival, the Surrey Association of Art Teachers student exhibit, the Cloverdale Blueberry Festival and various other community events.
The Newton Cultural Centre is a new state-of-the-art facility designed to be utilized by the arts and general business comunities at large. The building is the home of the Arts Council of Surrey and contains a Gallery, Conference/Meeting area and a Theatre/Rehearsal Hall – all of which are for rent. Suitable for all the arts.It exists to create awareness, appreciation and pride in the artistic and cultural achievements of our community.
