During your trip to the Broughton Archipelago be sure to tour SeaRose Studio with artist and author Yvonne Maximchuk. It’s around the corner from Echo Bay, just a short skiff or boat ride southwest toward the entrance to Shoal Harbour. Come by; look for the OPEN sign, (generally 10-4 daily.)To be certain of finding her at home, Email searosestudio@hotmail.com or call 250-974-8134 for a private viewing.
At SeaRose Studio you’ll find many manifestations of Yvonne’s creativity. Featured new paintings hang along with older ones; art cards and small prints make easy gifts and ‘take-homes’ for the small boater. Art for every budget includes original watercolours and acrylics as well as good quality reproductions of selected paintings, all celebrating the beauty and diversity of this maze of inlets and islands.
Select from artwork in her studio, or on the website www.yvonnemaximchuk.com
To explore and nurture your own ‘art spirit’, book an art retreat; and if you are a true ‘coastophile’, her books are available for purchase at the studio, in local Indie books stores and online. Read “Murder Rides a Gale Force Wind” a mystery novel set in the Broughton Archipelago!
“Embedded in the uniquely glorious terrain of the Broughton Archipelago and far from authority, the characters of this atmospheric coastal mystery depict the inter-connected lives of indigenous and non-indigenous locals who struggle with the usual – and the unusual… a neighbour’s dead body washed up on an island.”
