The Arts Council of Ladysmith and District (ACLD) is the most comprehensive visual arts organization in Ladysmith! Our goal is to bring together artists & arts lovers of all styles and mediums and to provide artistic opportunities and experiences within the community and surrounding areas.
The Ladysmith Gallery hosts two art exhibitions each month, a membership art show, featuring artworks from Vancouver Island and Gulf Island artists, followed by a guest artist show for 10 days. Within the gallery, there is a boutique of curated original smaller artworks including jewelry, woodwork, ceramics, clothing, home décor, cards, glasswork and more. The gallery is open 7 days a week, 10 AM – 4 PM.
Other events that take place at the gallery include Art Pop Ups (July & October), the Ladysmith Spring Art Escape (April), and Artist Talks.
Along with the Ladysmith Gallery, the arts council offers a professional arts education program, offering a wide selection of arts classes and workshops led by working professional artists.
From arts shows to art classes, resources to unique events such as the two-day juried Arts on the Avenue Festival, the ACLD continues to grow and supports artists in this region.
