Connect With BC’s Creative Communities:
“Curated Community is a celebration of the arts and culture in BC, hosted by a diverse mix of artists and business owners in a specific city”, explains founder Trudy Van Dop. “Art-BC Community Directory is committed to ‘training the spotlight’ on the arts, culture and heritage of the province.”
The BC Cultural Crawl provides the opportunity for residents and visitors alike to discover Creative Communities across British Columbia. It is our chance to see the province as a world class cultural tourism destination. Fostering pride in each Creative Community brings cultural uniqueness and displays the story of its heritage. Through partnerships and media sponsors, the BC Cultural Crawl generates local, national and international exposure for British Columbia’s artists, performers, heritage sites and Creative Communities.

Ashcroft’s arts, culture, and heritage are rooted in its ties to Gold Rush history and the striking desert landscape. Located on the traditional territory of the Nlaka’pamux people, who have lived along the Thompson River for over 6000 years. As such, the village of Ashcroft carries deep Indigenous histories alongside its legacy as a Cariboo Gold Rush hub, with preserved heritage buildings and sites, such as the Ashcroft Museum, offering glimpses into its past. Today, local artists and culture makers draw inspiration from the stunning hills and valleys of the Thompson River region, resulting in an intimate, vibrant cultural scene that includes community exhibitions, artisan markets, and seasonal events.
