Art Councils & Cultural Centres in Vernon

Across our expansive province, a broad range of Cultural Centres tell the stories of our communities and the voices within them.  As venues of both contemporary and historic expression, these colosseums of all sizes tell stories bigger than themselves, navigating our past, present and future.  These vital organizations of art culture create new narratives about the future of our society and the role of the arts within it.
One of the best things about Cultural Centres is that they are continually dynamic, profiling an expansive range of cultural and artistic practices that shift and adapt across the seasons, much like the physical geography of our province.  From theatre, dance, music and film screenings to exhibitions, workshops and courses, these Centres capture the broad range of performing and visual arts like no other.  Each component becomes a vignette of community storytelling, representing the tapestry of the community and surrounding region.
Crucially, the contents of Cultural Centres aren't solely about the varying media presented within.  While intrinsic to storytelling, these media convey dialogue about the significance of these centres, creating a compendium of narratives about our geographic, social and artistic history.
Whether large or small, the cultural centres of British Columbia are built by dedicated communities of artists, history lovers and volunteers, eager to share their cultural heritage and contemporary practices.  Stay tuned to Art-BC as we profile to many organizations that shape the stories of their communities and celebrate the cultural identity within.
