Halfmoon Bay was originally a territory of the Shíshálh Nation and nowadays, offers a lot of Indigenous art. One of the main attractions is the Rockwater Secret Cove Resort which has unique accommodations in the form of a luxury tent-house suite. Guests can take their time and enjoy a variety of paintings by some of the best artists in the town - Sandy Kay and Gigi Hoeller. Sandy Kay's paintings are known to be very emotion-based and painted in different styles. The artist used to own a gallery on Granville Island for many years and has gained international attention with her paintings displayed in England, Germany, Dubai, the U.S. and Canada.
