Campbell River is nestled within the territory of the Liǧʷiłdax̌ʷ peoples: the We Wai Kai, Wei Wai Kum, and Kwiakah Nations⁠. This land is also home to the Ayajuthem-speaking people of the Homalco, Klahoose and K’omoks First Nations.
