As the new year approaches, Okanagan residents are looking for ways to reduce stress, try something new, and spend more time doing what they love. The Vernon Community Arts Centre (VCAC) invites the community to do all three by making creativity their New Year’s resolution.
Registration opens November 15 for Winter Art Classes (January–March) and Spring Break Art Camps for children aged 6–12. Offerings include pottery, painting, glasswork, mixed media, and fibre arts, with opportunities for both beginners and experienced creators.
“Creativity is one of the most fulfilling resolutions you can make,” says Rodney Goodchild, VCAC Centre Manager. “Our classes provide a warm, welcoming space to learn, make, and connect—perfect for families, youth, and anyone in the Okanagan looking to explore something new.”
Participating in creative activities has been shown to reduce stress, boost problem-solving skills, and improve overall wellbeing. VCAC offers classes and workshops for all ages, including after-school programs for youth, adult classes at various times, and family-friendly sessions that turn winter days into opportunities for learning and fun.
Looking for a meaningful gift for friends or family? VCAC Gift Cards can be used for classes, art supplies, or studio access, giving loved ones the chance to explore creativity and try something new.
Registration opens November 15. Start 2026 with inspiration, imagination, and a sense of community at the Vernon Community Arts Centre.
