That’s a wrap on Cultivate 2025!

Thank you to everyone who joined us July 12–13 on beautiful Gabriola Island for an unforgettable weekend of music, theatre, and community celebration.

for the Gabriola Arts Council’s 2026 Cultivate Performing and Arts Festival!

Cultivate will take place this year on Saturday and Sunday, July 11 and 12, and we are so excited to welcome local and visiting musical and performing artists to our stages.

The festival began with the Symphony Brunch Concert by the Vancouver Island Symphony String Quartet at The Haven, followed by a powerful land-honouring ceremony with Elder C’tasi:a Geraldine Manson and the Salish Sisters, and inspiring eco-music from the EnviroSongsters.

Saturday night lit up with performances from Bryce Lalonde & Andreas Kahre, Coalmont, and an electric, genre-spanning set by our headliner, Joel Plaskett.

Sunday brought the energy with The Kerplunks’ family show, the uplifting Gabriola Pops! Choir, and the immersive dance piece Voices in My Body by Murmur Collective. The weekend closed on a high note with soulful folk-R&B from broadband and an epic disco dance party with Wunderbread.

Huge thanks to our performers, volunteers, food vendors, The Steel Pan and HoJo’s Eats, tech crew, and YOU—the audience—for making Cultivate 2025 so special.
