Events in Chemainus

Welcome to Chemainus, a village nestled between the mountains and ocean along the Cowichan coast. Once founded in 1858 as a logging town, the city is now famous for its outdoor murals and other Chemainus attractions.   The Chemainus Mural Project started in 1981 as a community-driven art tourism experience. As of right now, there are more than 70 giant murals and sculptures for visitors to see. Some of the other notable Chemainus attractions include the Chemainus Theatre Festival which features a wide range of entertainment from classic plays to contemporary musicals. Visit Chemainus and immerse into the local culture and you definitely won’t be disappointed
