Charlene is a mixed media artist who has arrived at her career from a background in interior design, corporate marketing, and teaching.  Her self-directed art education has included courses at Emily Carr University as well as studies in Europe and the United States.

Charlene’s art is informed by the exploration of the natural world.  Her unique style incorporates realism and abstraction and, using multiple media and vibrant colour, reflects her experiences of travel and her passion for evoking atmosphere and the mystery of time and place. Her current series is deeply influenced by the work of the Canadian poet Pauline Johnson.

Charlene’s work is found in collections in Canada, the US and Europe, and incorporates larger pieces, small paintings, painted boxes, as well as original art gift items.

You are invited to visit Charlene’s studio on Granville Island whenever her sign is out in front of her studio or by appointment.
