Valemount Museum and Archives is a heritage museum located in the historic 1914 railway station in Valemount, offering an in-depth look at the history and culture of the Robson Valley.
Set across three levels, the museum features exhibits on early railway communities, Japanese internment camps, local pioneers, and war heroes, alongside artwork by regional artists. Visitors can explore immersive displays such as a recreated trapper’s cabin, a pioneer kitchen, and detailed model railways that bring the area’s past to life.
Outdoors, the experience continues with a restored CN caboose and an annex showcasing logging and farming artifacts, reflecting the industries that shaped the region.
As a designated heritage railway building, the museum not only preserves Valemount’s history but also provides a family-friendly cultural stop with a gift shop featuring local publications and railway memorabilia.
