Our community has passionate organizations and retail outlets that actively support the arts. The Quesnel Art Gallery, has been dedicated to promoting the talents of local and regional artists since 1968. The Quesnel & District Arts Council hosts monthly exhibitions in the Gallery, a permanent art collection, workshops, ongoing programs and the Gallery Gift Shop.
Comprised of volunteers dedicated to growing the arts scene in Quesnel, Quesnel Live Arts attracts talented performers of all kinds to the community to both entertain and inspire Quesnel residents and visitors alike.
Lhtako Dene Nation hosts an annual Pow Wow; a gathering to meet, drum, dance, sing, socialize, and honour First Nations culture. Join the celebrations in August at Lhtako Dene Nation Pow wow Grounds.
A visit to the Quesnel Farmers’ Market, located in downtown Quesnel, is another perfect place to meet local artisans and purchase their wares. The market runs every Saturday from May to October.
Quesnel and the North Cariboo region are home to talented artists and creative artisans which are showcased at Cariboo Keepsakes and the Quesnel Art Gallery.
Favourite exhibits at the Quesnel and District Museum and Archives include the Titanic, Footprints in Stone, dedicated to local First Nations culture, and vignettes recreating Quesnel’s pioneer homes and businesses. From rare Chinese artifacts used during the gold rush era, to ephemera that will evoke childhood memories, the extensive collections are sure to appeal to all ages and interests. Come and see why the Quesnel Museum has been proclaimed one of BC’s top 10 community museums.
If you’re traveling through BC be sure to stop at the Quesnel Downtown RV Park and Campground for an ideal location just a few minutes walk from Reid Street in downtown Quesnel.
