NISG̱A’A CULTURE IS DEEP ROOTED AND ENDURING.
You are invited to learn more about how we’ve survived, adapted and thrived in this remarkable place.
Most visitors enter Nisg̱a’a Lands from Terrace, British Columbia, Via Nisg̱a’a Highway 113. It is one of the most scenic drives on Canada’s Pacific coast. Once you arrive on Nisg̱a’a Lands, you can easily explore many fascinating and spectacular sights within a short walk from your car.
Nisg̱a’a Lands are crowned by soaring peaks, including the four Saviour Mountains where our ancestors took refuge during the Great Flood. From here, Ḵ’alii-Aksim Lisims (the Nass River) begins its long and storied journey. Along the way, it collides with a vast lava flow and becomes the spawning grounds of five species of Pacific salmon. Where the river meets the sea, orca, gray, and humpback whales pass by on their annual migration routes. From these shores, we have repelled invaders, received visitors, and launched countless journeys.
