The Arts Council manages the operation of the Artspost Studios for pottery, spinning and weaving and painting. The North Peace Cultural Centre (NPCC) is the performance centre for arts and cultural events. Opened in 1992, the NPCC houses a 400 seat, newly-renovate theatre, the Public Library, the Art Gallery and an arts activity centre. Among the many arts classes offered, the NPCC has a Play Arts Preschool, an After School Care Program, a free Let’s Arts painting program for teens and Pokemon Gaming. The NPCC is located in the heart of downtown core and along with the Arts Council is focused on enhancing the downtown area. The Annual Street Banner program, the previous Flower Pot painting, and the Bright Nights in June Festival are a few of the happenings of the Arts in Fort St. John.
