The Ashcroft Museum offers a deep dive into the village’s past, housed in the historic brick “Dominion” building originally constructed in 1916 as the post office.
The museum features a rich collection of artifacts dating back to the early 1900s, showcasing Ashcroft’s “Glory Days” through exhibits on Indigenous communities, Chinese settlers, and early pioneers. Visitors can explore displays on ranching, sports, and fossils, along with one of its most popular installations—the recreated coal mine exhibit.
Beyond its permanent displays, the museum also hosts rotating exhibitions each year, ensuring there’s always something new to discover. It maintains extensive archives related to local history and families, with staff available to assist visitors in research and storytelling.
Located at the corner of Brink Street and 4th Street, the museum is admission by donation, making it an accessible cultural stop when exploring Ashcroft’s heritage and desert landscape.
