ZimCarving was established in 2012. At its inception, membership included only a few artists. This soon expanded to over 50 talented Zimbabwean sculptors, represented through the importation of statues then sold at botanical gardens and various other art shows. By showcasing their powerful artwork on the world stage, ZimCarving supports the sculptors and their struggling communities back in Zimbabwe.
Patrick Sephani, ZimCarving’s founder, owner, and artist-in-residence, is a renowned Zimbabwean stone sculptor with over 30 years of experience. Patrick spends most of his life in travels across Europe and North America, representing his fellow Zimbabwean artists within major exhibitions and cultural exchange programs.
