Lori was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, where she has her studio and teaches at Emily Carr University of Art and Design. Her painting practice has evolved since the 1980s from large, semi¬ abstracted industrial and Pacific Northwest environments to recent paintings of the Pacific west coast forest: an inexhaustible source of mystery.
She received many awards, including a Canada Council Grant, two Tony Onley Artist’s Project Scholarships and the Vermont Artist Award. Her work is in many collections, including the Canada Art Bank, Ottawa, ON; Vancouver Contemporary Art Gallery; the City of Vancouver Art Collection; Schuster Group, Walton Lofts, Seattle, WA and the Interstate Bank, San Francisco, CA. Major exhibitions include South Main Gallery, Vancouver/ the Justine Barnike Gallery, Ontario/the Contemporary Art Gallery, Vancouver/ the KX Kunst Auf Kampfnagel Gallery, Hamburg.As an artist, Goldberg has always sought intersections with broader communities, developing collaborative and mutually instructive inquiries about how art can impact positive environmental changes. Lori has spearheaded socially engaged projects in Akumal, Mexico, Governor’s Island, NYC, Vancouver and Squamish, BC.She is represented by Art Junction Gallery, Whistler and McQueen Art Agency, Alberta.
