  • Welcome to Prince George, BC!

It’s called the Goldilocks Principle, when something is so well-balanced that we say it’s just right. For us, it’s the precise blend of urban and wilderness: not too busy and not too remote. Located near the centre of British Columbia, Prince George is a hub that serves the northern half of the province. Local residents have thrived in the city for over one hundred years and the result is a rich cultural history that they are eager to share through a variety of artistic expressions.

Art in Prince George is shared through music, theatre, festivals, and visual art. Two Rivers Gallery is the main centre for visual art in Prince George (and BC’s central interior). Located in downtown Prince George their visually stunning building reflects the geography and industry of the area while displaying a variety of exhibits throughout the year. Join them Thursday evenings to create your own art in their MakerLab, an open area with a variety of tools available for use. They also have a gift shop brimming with creations from local artists.
Join one of many festivals to watch the community come together to celebrate. As we celebrate Canada 150 this year, our festivals will be even more enhanced. During the Downtown Prince George Winter Carnival ice carvers entertained the crowds while creating an art piece. In July the Prince George Folkfest Society is hosting an eight-day, outdoor music festival in Canada Games Plaza, called HeatWave (to reflect Coldsnap, their annual winter festival).
Theatre NorthWest treats audiences to several captivating performances each year. They are the only professional theatre company located north of Kamloops and is one of Canada’s most subscribed-to live theatres (per capita).
Experience audible art at a variety of venues in Prince George, from an annual outdoor concert at a local brewery to performances by the Prince George Symphony Orchestra, or a big concert at the CN Centre to small, week night serenades at local restaurants and cafes.
