Ptarmigan Arts Society is a charitable arts organization that delivers educational and inspirational arts programs to community members of all ages. It has been in existence for 28 years, and has a solid track record of coordinating and delivering successful and innovative artistic programming in the community in areas such as music, theatre, dance, storytelling, visual arts and media arts.
Ptarmigan works to ensure its educational programs are accessible to all, and runs programs for people ranging in age from seniors to preschoolers. Clients have included schools, community groups, seniors’ centers, homeless shelters, and facilities that serve clients with disabilities and disadvantages. Ptarmigan’s work helps all members of our society to live healthier, happier and more engaged lives. Ptarmigan focuses on community building through the arts and works to ensure that programs are readily available to people who are challenged by geographic, financial, physical or mental barriers.
Mission Statement: Ptarmigan’s purpose is to provide creative opportunities for our island communities through education and engagement in the arts.
Vision Statement: Ptarmigan is an integral part of the community and a valued community leader. We nurture creativity in our island communities by providing creative artistic opportunities to emerging and established artists, community members of all ages and island visitors.
Constitution: To advance and promote arts education and creative arts opportunities by providing arts workshops, events, classes and performances for Canadians of all ages, in particular those living with disadvantages.
