  • NDAC ArtWalk – 31 Years and still thriving

    31 years of supporting local art and artists. ArtWalk is presented and produced by the Nelson and District Arts Council (NDAC). NDAC is a registered non-profit organization that was formed in 1969 as the Kootenay Columbia Arts Council. All board members are local volunteers who are committed to promoting and encouraging culture and artistic activities that stimulate, broaden, encourage and facilitate the continuing development of arts and cultural opportunities, projects and activities in Nelson and District.


    Friday, June 28th Opening Night Gala 6 -9pm
    The Nelson and District Arts Council invites you to hit the streets and celebrate the 31st annual ArtWalk. Wander the streets taking in the amazing talent of over 30 artists in 17 different venues, where you will be joined by wandering singers, dancers, drummers, musicians, hoola hoopers and more. See you in the streets.


    Saturday, July 27th 2nd Opening Night Gala 6 – 9pm
    This is your chance to be an artist. Have you ever wanted to throw some clay, strum a guitar, play the drums, pick up a paint brush or a can of spray paint? Well tonight ‘You are the the Artist’ as the Nelson and District Arts Council sets up interactive performances spaces throughout the city. You never know what hidden talent you will discover.     Friday, Sept 6th Closing Night Gala 7 – 10pm
    The Nelson and District Arts Council are teaming up with the Nelson Road Kings to host a Family Friendly Street Dance in Hall Street Plaza. Dance under the stars with ‘Ruckus’ a local rock and roll band that are sure to get your toes tapping. This is the wrap party for ArtWalk 2019 and the kick-off for the Queen City Cruise.
