There's nothing quite like encountering an artist on his or her own turf: cup of tea in one hand, and paintbrush or chisel in the other. Many British Columbia artists open up their homes and studios to visitors, welcoming you into their own creative world. Be sure to take advantage of this unique, and often unforgettable, experience. This public gallery offers visitors the chance to view a variety of exhibitions in its four exhibition galleries, ranging from historical to contemporary art. Jason Marlow - Woodturner

Recognized internationally for his innovative and original pieces, Jason Marlow is one of Canada’s most distinguished woodturners.

Marlow created his studio in 1980 and used sustainable native woods of British Columbia. His signature "Helmet" series is particularly well known. He is inspired by Vancouver Islands forests, rivers, mountains, and wildlife.

Scottish artist, Deryk Houston resides in Victoria, B.C., Canada, and has exhibited internationally. He has mounted one man exhibitions in Canada, the USA, Scotland, Iraq, and the former Soviet Union.

His work was featured in the documentary film “From Baghdad to Peace Country” by the National Film Board of Canada.

He has completed ground art, earthen works in Iraq, Canada and Scotland, in support of children’s rights.
