Studios & Galleries

There's nothing quite like encountering an artist on his or her own turf: cup of tea in one hand, and paintbrush or chisel in the other. Many British Columbia artists open up their homes and studios to visitors, welcoming you into their own creative world. Be sure to take advantage of this unique, and often unforgettable, experience. Please take note of studios that ask you call before visiting.

Leslie Gregory - TOSH 10 Gallery Resident Artist

112 Fern Road West
Qualicum Beach BC

www.tosh10.blogspot.com

Mon: 12:00noon - 4:30pm, Tue to Sat: 10am - 4:30pm
Sundays closed.

Leslie lives with her husband on 20 acres of woodland at Spider Lake near Qualicum Beach, B.C. Her strong attachment to nature and her love of finding the “Sacred in the Ordinary” present her with an unlimited array of painting ideas. “The play of sunlight on the water or the curve of a flower petal as it unfolds can leave us breathless with delight if we but look.” There is an exuberance of colour and texture to be found in a box of old buttons or the bubbles in the kitchen sink while we wash the dishes- again, if we but look. She asks us to look by painting small vignettes of ordinary subjects.

TOSH 10: Leslie currently shows her work at TOSH (The Old School House) in Qualicum Beach. Check the TOSH 10 blog if you wish to visit when she is painting - www.tosh10.blogspot.com.

West Coast Canadian roots influence the artist's landscapes and portraits described as bold and energetic. Bold, sensual and contemporary, each creation tells the story of inspiration and playful experimentation. The artist creates unique textures by carving into paint, tar and plaster on canvas or board. The fluid play across the layers of media is unified by a harmonious glaze of colour. Inspired by the wild pacific scenery, her work combines the diversity of the cultures that percolate within.

TOSH 10: Susan currently shows her work at TOSH (The Old School House) in Qualicum Beach. Check the TOSH 10 blog if you wish to visit when she is painting - www.tosh10.blogspot.com.

I paint for the sheer joy of it. Some visual delights will not leave me alone until I put paint to paper. It thrills and lifts my spirit. If my art contributes to the joy, delight and peace in anyone else, then I am successful.
