  • The Penticton & District Community Arts Council was formed on Dec. 7, 1960 and resides in the City of Penticton’s heritage building, the Leir House Cultural Centre.

Penticton & District Community Arts Council’s mission is to stimulate, foster, and celebrate the arts in our community through our programs and services. Through the Arts Matter Program (AMP) we offer opportunities for artists and the general public to engage with arts and culture. We believe that a vibrant arts and culture community is essential to a healthy community. Art cuts across all barriers, creates community connections, and should be accessible for all.

The Penticton & District Community Arts Council has been hard at work updating our Arts Matter Program to support local artists who are now creating digital and online content for our community. The Arts Council is a strong advocate for artists being paid for their time and we are continuing to support and communicate this belief during the COVID-19 pandemic.  Twice a week we are releasing online content for the community in the form of printable PDFs, streaming concerts, art tutorial videos and more!
