Working primarily as a commercial artist /illustrator for the past 35 years I have painted dozens of murals across Western Canada. Most of these I receive as a result of Public Art proposals. Murals tend to be most often of an historic nature and I enjoy the research and authenticity that they require.
My fine art on the other hand gives me the opportunity to paint in a more stylistic vein often with a nod to the mid-century characteristics that I am so fond of. As a child of the 1950’s and ‘60’s I grew up admiring the commercial artists of the day with their more graphic, representational style of illustration. What some once called merely a popular advertising trend has stood the test of time, just as ‘60’s music and architecture are now considered classic genres unlikely ever to be surpassed.
My work can be seen at the Okanagan Art Gallery in Osoyoos and the Picture Perfect Gallery in Kelowna.
