Success Stories from the 8th Annual BC Cultural Crawl

This year’s cultural crawls were the most successful ever with more
community-initiated events and festivals than before! More than
50 individual crawls, touching over 80 communities, took place
throughout the province from Burnaby to Creston Valley. Participating
communities are already looking forward to next year!

We’d like to extend a big Thank You to our media partners, cultural

crawl ambassadors and cultural enthusiasts that participated and
helped to get the word out! We’d like also like to congratulate three
outstanding communities that really engaged the spirit of the cultural
crawl. They serve as an exemplary example for us all.

We remain committed to raising the spotlight on arts & culture in BC and have
developed more tools to make it easier for communities to participate in the 9th
Annual BC Cultural Crawl with our new partner, the Assembly of BC Arts Councils. |

A study found that businesses which chose to maintain or raise their level of advertising expenditures during
the 1981 and 1982 recession had significantly higher sales after the economy recovered.
Specifically, companies that advertised aggressively during the recession had sales 256% higher than those that did not continue to
advertise.
