WELLS, BC – How does a journey into the abyss of cancer become an uplifting and inspiring story of courage and survival?

With a passion for language from an early age, Emma Jarrett started work as a bi-lingual personal assistant in England and a part-time interpreter in Italy – where she also learned the impassioned use of gesture! In 1998 she moved to Quesnel British Columbia, where she is raising her family. While juggling motherhood with work as a performance coach teaching the Alexander Method, she was hit with a cancer diagnosis in 2016. What began as finding solace in her passion for poetry and journaling has become a wells spring of healing power through creativity.

Over the past 18 months, Emma along with Dramaturge and Director Danette Boucher has been creating a one-woman play entitled Breastless through the Sunset Theatre’s Exploration Series in Wells BC.

Breastless is a poetic and poignant story of being given the diagnosis of every woman’s worst fear – breast cancer. But this seemingly stark and far too often common story is breathtakingly beautiful and at times, heartwarmingly humorous. It draws you into the intimate details that we so often want to avoid, yet, Emma’s ability to weave a path through the darkness then guiding us back into the light, is a testament to her strength as a human being and the indelible mark she is creating as an artist.

Breastless premieres at the Sunset Theatre on October 11 & 12, at 8:00 pm. All tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the door or in advance.
