About Charla: Newfoundland born, Kelowna based artist, Charla Maarschalk is known for her large scale gestural Faces that explore the layers of human identity. She is interested in the process of combining thread with paint, connecting ancestral truths to our modern world. The emotive response to the texture, layers and details in her work reveals the story hidden within us.
Course Details: On the first day students will set up and prep their palette and Charla will expand on the importance of colour theory and mixing. You will work on the completion of a small painting guided step by step with Charla using demos and individual feedback.
On Day 2 students will work on a larger painting, using the techniques learned on day one. There will also be demos and individual feedback.
