The New West Cultural Crawl is a two-day visual arts and cultural festival that celebrates and presents New Westminster’s creative character and diversity. A cultural experience that exists throughout the city’s neighbourhoods. Discover our historical heritage and the ‘New’ New West.
New Westminster has a fantastic artistic landscape that continues to evolve with every passing year. Join us as the festivities begin on Friday, August 9th, with a wine and cheese party (cash bar) from 6 pm – 9 pm at 100 Braid Street Studios. Enjoy a sneak peak at the high quality of art presented during the Cultural Crawl. The Westminster Savings Opening Ceremony will be held at 6pm with remarks from local dignitaries. Volunteers will be on hand with maps and suggested routes to enhance your experience. Then on Saturday and Sunday the New West Cultural Crawl sprawls across New Westminster as arts and cultural facilities throw their doors open and welcome you in.
This two-day event on August 10th & 11th will include open studios where local artists feature their work and their creative process. Look for special events and live paint-ins at popular arts, culture and heritage destinations around the city.
The self-guided crawl is arranged in convenient neighbourhood clusters that showcase local art in galleries, theatres and historical venues. These neighbourhoods include Sapperton, Downtown, Uptown, West End, and Queensborough.
