  • August 16-18 will be a special celebration in Pender Harbour. The Pender Harbour Chamber Music Festival is marking their 15th anniversary by commissioning a composition by Toronto musician and composer Graham Campbell; the piece will be premiered during the Saturday afternoon concert, performed by the New Zealand String Quartet, celebrated clarinettist James Campbell (Graham’s father!), pianist (and Festival Artistic Director) Alexander Tselyakov, and Graham, on guitar. Throughout the weekend these artists will be joined by Evan Hesketh, viola, Dylan Palmer, double bass, Christie Reside, flute, and Daniel Tselyakov, piano. The programme will present a weekend brimming  with fine music  from an arrangement of George Gershwin’s iconic “Rhapsody in Blue”, to Mozart, Brahms, and Mendelssohn, as well as Shostakovich, Janáček, and much more. Truly a festival to note.
