Chilliwack - The Great Outside!

Arts and culture are important parts of what makes any community special — and Chilliwack is a very special place indeed! We invite you to explore arts and culture in ‘The Great Outside’, and to enjoy your visit to our community.

Chilliwack has a rich and vibrant aboriginal culture and our land is spirited with longhouses and cultural interpretive centres waiting to welcome you.

Chilliwack offers an increasing number of performing arts events, many hosted or initiated by the vibrant Chilliwack Community Arts Council.

For many local artists and crafts people, the annual Christmas Craft Market offers the biggest opportunity to display their artistry. Held on the second to last weekend of November, it also provides locals and visitors the chance to see and to buy outstanding works from Chilliwack and British Columbia artists and craftspeople.

Chilliwack is home to upwards of 1,000 artists and craftspeople. These range from music teachers to accomplished musicians of international repute. We've also got painters, sculptors, carvers, potters, and others, many world-class. You will find many of these studios and galleries listed on our Artisan Rural Tour.
